Simple ILL Actions and Statuses

Local/Borrower (Requester) ILL Action and state

Remote (Responder) ILL Action and state

End User makes request.

No action

Idle (unauthorized)

At this stage there is no ILL, as it has not been authorized. It is simply a message waiting to be processed.

Local ILL Administrator authorizes request.

ILL_Request

Idle

Request now ready for transmission to remote Lending ( Responder) Location.

Local ILL server finds and sends request

Rota position is updated

If only 1 location noted on the rota local ILL server sets rota position to 1 and sends request.

Remote ILL server receives request indication

ILL now recorded in both local and remote database systems.
